Training Medical Professionals in Western Pacific Region

Training medical professionals of counterpart is one of our missions to improve diabetic foot situation in Western Pacific Region. Kyoto Medical Center accept trainees from our counterparts and /or visit their country to provide training session. Please click the below for the details in our past training sessions .

●2013―2014: Dr. Zhang Fuifeng from Henan Provincial People’s Hospital stayed at Kyoto Medical Center for 6 month to study diabetic foot care.
   
●2013 Two Doctors from Vietnam spent a week at Kyoto Medical Center to study diabetic foot and other diabetic complications.
   
●2013  Doctors from Fiji, Malysia, Mongolia, Taiwan and Thai attended the Diabetic Footcare course at Kyoto Medical Center.
   
●2012 Prof. Zhanay A. Akanov, MD, PhD attended the Diabetic Footcare course at Kyoto Medical Center.
 
●2012 Doctors from Cambodia and Indonesia attended the Diabetic Footcare course at Kyoto Medical Center.
   
●2010: Orthopedic Surgeon from Philippine, Dr. Jim Bryan Pantas stayed at Kyoto Medical Center for a week after participating KYOTO FOOT MEETING.
 
●2009 Nurses from Vietnam, Mongolia, China spent a month at Kyoto Medical Center to learn treatment of diabetic foot. Ms. Alethea VM Foster, a podiatrist from UK instructed hands-on technique of diabetic foot care.
   
●2008 Doctors from China, Indonesia, Vietnam and Mongolia leaned about treatment and prevention of diabetic foot care at Kyoto Medical Center.
   
●2003  Dr. Pham Thuy Huon from National Hospital of Endocrinology in Hanoi, Vietnam spent a month at Kyoto Medical Center to learn the care of diabetic foot.
 
●2002 Dr. 馬書平 from Henan Provicional People’s Hospital stayed 6 months to study the treatment and prevention of diabetic foot.
 
●2001 Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Quynh from National Hospital of Endocrinology in Hanoi, Vietnam spent 3-month to learn general treatment of diabetes.

2012 in Hanoi, Vietnam:
Dr. Kono, director of WHO Collaborating Centre for Diabetes, visited National Hospital of Endocrinology to lecture on Diabetic foot care.
   
2007 in Hanoi, Vietnam:
Dr. Kono provided hands-on workshop on diabetic foot care to the physicians and surgeons at National hospital of Endocrinology. He also gave an educational lecture at the Vietnam Endocrinology Society Scientifc symposium.
   
2006 in Hanoi, Vietnam:
Dr. Kono provided practical seminar to the local nurses and physicians on diabetic footcare.
   
2005 in Hanoi, Vietnam:
Staff from Kyoto Medical Center provided hands-on seminar on diabetic foot to the local nurses and physicians at the National Hospital of Endocrinology.

2011 in Indonesia:
Dr. Kono visited University hospital and 4 other hospitals in Jakarta, and Udyana University Sanglah Hospital in Bali to give medical advice on diabetic foot care.

Dr. Kono visited Preah Kossamak Hospital to give an lecture and technical advice on diabetic foot care.

At MV Hospital, Dr. Kono lectured on diabetic foot to the local nurses and physicians on diabetic foot.

At the Theptarin Hospita, Dr. Kono gave a lecture on diabetic foot to the phycians and surgeons.
   
Educational Video on basic foot exam and care

In 2009, we invited a podiatrist from UK, Ali Foster to prepare an educational video on basic foot exam and care. The video contains essential s of foot exam and care, and  it is full of practical tips, which Ms. Foster  found in her long standing podiatric career.

Ms. Ali Foster had been involved with  numerous international medical collaboration and devote herself to educating basic podiatric care to the countries where no podiatric profession exist.
